Greater Glasgow HOPE not Hate are pleased to announce that the new Townsend Production of ‘We are the Lions Mr Manager’ will be coming to Glasgow on Tuesday 27th March 2018, 7.00pm at UNITE the Union offices, John Smith House, 145-165 West Regent Street, G2 4RZ. The play tells the story of Jayaben Desai and the Grunwick Dispute of 1976-78 where the mainly female Asian workforce fought for their basic rights to trade union membership and recognition from their employer...

Glasgow International Brigade Commemoration 2017 was held on 9th of  September. Around 75 people attended the now annual Commemoration at  Glasgow’s ‘La Passionaria’ statue with key speakers including Mike Arnott of the International Brigade Memorial Trust and International speaker; Conny Renkl representing Germany’s oldest anti-fascist organisation; the VVN-BDA. Neil Anderson from Glasgow Trades Union Council read a poem written by International Brigader, Eric Ebney and award winning Scottish Gaelic singer, Maeve MacKinnon sang a song written by her about the International Brigade. Wreath laying and a minutes silence ending with the International.
